Ode to the Morning

Yet with all my ways to wake up
Drowsiness keeps coming in
And my struggles seem faint so early in the morning
To forget and move on
Something I do so I can stay strong
In the morning nothing matters
Get where you're going, the faster the better
I don't know where, I don't care
Right now where I'll end up later
I swear there's nothing better
Then the time before coffee is in my hand
Everything is cloudy and free
Anything could be make believe
Until the coffee makes me see
Everything's dandy till the coffee
A bittersweet melody, this addiction be
Cause nothing much gives a rush like a double shot
And I'd rather sleep the day in bed
Rather shoot myself in the head
Than go the day without coffee
Even though Starbucks costs a pretty penny
And now my cup is empty
That means it's time to get going
Gotta wipe off the ice on my car
And hope that the night isn't that far off
